Sain

Music from Wales.

Founded in 1969, Sain (“Sound” in Welsh) has become the iconic record label for Welsh music. To mark its 50-year celebration, Sain wanted a fresh visual identity that honoured its illustrious heritage and looked forward to a new age of music.

The new logo reimagines the 1975 design, which evokes a vinyl record split to suggest the letter 'S'. A bespoke typeface was also created, featuring angular cuts that echo those in the logo. It is only the second typeface ever created for the Welsh language, incorporating eight unique letter combinations that appear in the Welsh alphabet.
